Definitions and Support Elements for Health and Sports Tourism Services

Registration and protection support
Expenses related to the registration and protection of domestically registered trademarks of beneficiaries operating in the health tourism sector abroad are supported at a rate of 60% and an annual maximum of 600,000 TL,

Support for market entry documents
Expenses of beneficiaries operating in the health tourism sector regarding the documents, certificates or accreditations determined by the Ministry are supported at a rate of 60% and a maximum of 600,000 TL per document.

Agency commission support
Agency commission expenses of health institutions and beneficiaries determined by the Ministry operating in sports tourism are supported at a rate of 60% for a maximum of 5 years and at a maximum of 1,200,000 TL per year.

(2) Medical practices and polyclinics shall benefit from this support up to a maximum of TRY 240,000 per year, and other health institutions and accommodation facilities up to a maximum of TRY 1,200,000 per year.

Support for complication and travel health insurance
The complication and travel health insurance expenses of beneficiaries operating in the health tourism sector for patients coming to Turkey for treatment from insurance companies based in Turkey are supported at a rate of 70% and at a maximum amount of 2,400,000 TL per beneficiary per year.

Employment support
The gross salaries of interpreters, call center personnel, guides, social media specialists and marketing specialists employed by beneficiaries operating in the health tourism sector and the gross salaries of caregivers and social workers employed by health tourism beneficiaries operating in the field of care, amounting to a maximum of TRY 18,000 per month per personnel, are supported at a rate of 60%; a maximum of TRY 600,000 per practice and polyclinic per year, and a maximum of TRY 2,400,000 per year for other health tourism sector beneficiaries.

(2) Beneficiaries shall benefit from this support for a maximum of 5 years.

Foreign language and health tourism training support
The foreign language and health tourism training expenses of the personnel employed by the beneficiaries operating in the health tourism sector, which are deemed appropriate by the Ministry, are supported at a rate of 60%; a maximum of 240,000 TL per practice and polyclinic per year, and a maximum of 960,000 TL per year per other health tourism sector beneficiaries,

Patient road support
Airfare expenses of patients brought to Turkey for treatment by health institutions and health tourism intermediary organizations that have signed a protocol with the Ministry are supported at a rate of 60% per patient for a maximum of 5 years and a maximum amount of 12,000 TL,

(2) Medical practices and polyclinics shall benefit from this support up to a maximum of TL 600,000 per year, and other health tourism beneficiaries up to a maximum of TL 6,000,000 per year.

Advertising, promotion and marketing support
Expenses of beneficiaries and cooperation organizations for advertising, promotion and marketing activities abroad are supported at a rate of 60% for beneficiaries and 70% for cooperation organizations for a maximum of 5 years.

(2) The beneficiaries and cooperation organizations shall benefit from this support in the amount of maximum TRY 2.400.000 per year for medical practices and polyclinics, maximum TRY 6.000.000 per year for other beneficiaries in the health tourism sector, maximum TRY 9.600.000 per year for cooperation organizations, and maximum TRY 1.200.000 per year for beneficiaries and cooperation organizations operating in the sports tourism sector.

(3) For beneficiaries who are members of the sectoral internet portal operating within the scope of subparagraph (a) of the first paragraph of Article 104, the support rate shall be applied as 70% for the duration of their presence on the portal.

Unit support
The gross rent and commission expenses, including taxes, duties and fees, of up to 25 units of beneficiaries and cooperation organizations operating in the health tourism sector, and the certification expenses related to the opening or operation of the units are supported at a rate of 60% for beneficiaries, 70% for cooperation organizations and a maximum of 1,440,000 TL per unit per year for a maximum of 5 years for each country.

(2) Medical practices and polyclinics can benefit from this support up to a maximum of 600,000 TL per unit per year.

Foreign event participation support
Expenses related to the overseas events determined by the Ministry in which the beneficiaries and cooperation organizations participate individually or at national level are supported at a rate of 60% for the beneficiaries, 70% for the cooperation organizations and a maximum of 300,000 TL per event, and if the event is one of the prestigious events determined by the Ministry, at the same rates for up to 3 prestigious events held within a calendar year and a maximum of 600,000 TL per event.

National participation organization promotion support
Promotion expenses of cooperation organizations and national participation organizers related to the national participation event are supported at a rate of 70% and a maximum of 1.440.000 TL per event.

Domestic event participation support
The expenses of the beneficiaries and cooperation organizations for their individual participation in domestic events determined by the Ministry are supported at a rate of 60% for beneficiaries, 70% for cooperation organizations and a maximum of 300,000 TL per event.

Domestic promotion and training support
Expenses of beneficiaries and cooperation organizations operating in the health tourism sector for training and promotion programs organized exclusively for the promotion of their facilities and services in the country with the participation of academicians, experts, press members, experiencers, representatives of sectoral institutions or organizations invited from abroad, which are deemed appropriate by the Ministry and held at most 5 times in a calendar year, are supported at a rate of 60% for beneficiaries and 70% for cooperation organizations.

(2) For domestic promotion/training programs, beneficiaries are supported with a maximum of 600,000 TL per program, and cooperation organizations are supported with a maximum of 1,200,000 TL per program.

Product placement support
Product placement expenses in feature films, documentaries, TV series, animated films and program formats and digital games screened abroad are supported for a maximum of 5 years at a rate of 60% and an annual maximum of 1.200.000 TL for beneficiaries and 70% and an annual maximum of 2.400.000 TL for cooperation organizations.
